Harlequins

The Quins had their most successful season for a number of years, winning fifteen and losing just five of their merit table games and finishing second in the final standings, which earned them promotion to the Devon Merit Table 1.

Once again led by the imperious managerial abilities of Bradley Goaman, Mark Heal and Simon Mitchell the Quins went from strength to strength throughout the year, notching up impressive wins both at home and on the road.

Although there were several impressive performances throughout the year the games against Kingsbridge and Barnstaple on Boxing Day are two that really stand out. The Quins managed to beat Kingsbridge, who went on to finish top of the merit table and lost narrowly to a strong Barnstaple team on Boxing Day.

The Quins fielded a regular line up throughout the season and this told as they were able to play some well structured and impressive rugby. Although Steve Fisher was named player of the season, there were very impressive campaigns from Richard Norman and Karl Little, but it was clear that everyone did their bit to aid the Quins success.

The strength of the club is shown very well in the performances of the 2nd XV and the ease at which many players made the step up throughout the season to be part of the Chiefs line up.

This year the Quins will be looking to push on from their extremely strong year in 2010/11 and improve performances once again.

Westward Ho!.......
